As the Supreme Court nomination for Brett Kavanaugh pauses following sexual assault allegations, MuckRock users are continuing to comb through a collection of materials released on the the Court of Appeals judge.
Through our new Assignment tool, we’ve received over 400 hundred pieces of feedback on the cache containing thousands of pages of Kavanaugh documents.
Of interest to a few participants are the materials related to the death of Vincent Foster, the Deputy White House Counsel whose suicide Kavanaugh probed as part of the Whitewater real estate investigation. Readers pulled out a summary of physical evidence found in the Foster case, including the conversations on the discovery of the body and details from Foster’s briefcase.
Others have highlighted calendar of his appearances Kavanaugh made in the latter half of 2013, as well as several of his on-the-record responses to the Senate’s questions, including those on climate change, racial disparities in the criminal justice system, and Roe v. Wade.
You can continue to sift through the growing collection of Kavanaugh materials on the DocumentCloud project and point out anything interesting you see via the Assignment.
