Pursuant to the Vermont public records law (1 V.S.A. §§ 315-320), I hereby request the following records:
All emails to or from V. Ernesto Méndez that contain the phrase "Food Evolution" from January 1, 2017 to June 21, 2017.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.

Dear Mr. Neidenbach,
I am writing in response to your request for records dated June 21, 2017 which arrived in my office on June 26, 2017. You requested the following:
“All emails to or from V. Ernesto Méndez that contain the phrase "Food Evolution" from January 1, 2017 to June 21, 2017.”
Due to the location of records that must be reviewed to respond to your request and because I must consult with other departments, I am notifying you of our need to extend under 1 V.S.A. § 318(a)(5) our time for response to up to ten business days from the date of your request. Therefore, you will receive our response to your request by July 10, 2017.
Below is a link to the University of Vermont Operating Procedure related to costs associated with records requests. I estimate that there will be time associated with collecting the data. In addition, there will be cost associated with reproduction of the records. Please confirm that you wish me to proceed with the collection and reproduction of the records.
Please keep in mind that the Vermont Public Records Act does not oblige the University to create custom reports. Also, we reserve the prerogative to withhold particular records as allowed by law.
