To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

Any emails, memos, letters, or communications sent or received by Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Jim Bridenstine, that reference "Space force".

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Matthew Guariglia

Dear Mr. Guariglia,

Your request is currently under review in the Office of General Council as per our usual process when we use an exemption. I will follow-up with them for a status.

Also, you stated in your request to get in touch before fees were assessed, please give me a call at (202) 358-1030. We were going to indicate that a large portion of the records which were responsive to your request are responsive simply because they contain the term "space force". The majority of which consist of spam not responded to, and items such as daily communications briefings, which are sent to a large portion of employees and tend to summarize items. We are able to process the unique documents that mention or discuss the space force without accumulating fees, however there would be fees if we were to process the remainder since there are a few thousand pages of these emails resembling spam.

Respectfully,

Robert Young

Matthew,

Thank you for your time today over the phone. As discussed, we are going to exclude the Daily Communications Briefings, Executive News Summaries, and the 1807 pages of emails which have the pattern of spam.

We will provide the unique documents and expect there to be no fees for providing this information.

If you confirm this is the case, kindly provide a short reply thereto and it will be very appreciated.
Thanks,

Robert Young
