To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
Records relating to or mentioning the hacker persona Mendax.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
There are eFOIA files available for you to download.
The request has been rejected, with the agency stating that it can neither confirm nor deny the existence of the requested documents.
I am appealing the b6 and b7C exemptions, as
1. Entities, personas and personalities are not entitled to the same privacy considerations as individuals
2. The only person attributed with being the individual associated with the handle "Mendax" has been openly charged by the Department of Justice, with affidavits being filed in the case.
As such, the exemptions do not apply due either to the nature of the request and/or due to the prior disclosure by the FBI .
