This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

On January 19-20, 2011, FEMA hosted a Faithful Readiness emergency preparedness and security conference in partnership with state and local emergency management agencies, law enforcement, the tribal community, and faith-based and community groups in Tucson, AZ to address challenges from the intersection between emergency management and border security initiatives. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Alan Bersin delivered keynote remarks at the conference. The Homeland Security Advisory Committee also hosted a meeting with local faith-based organizations on ways to conduct and improve information-sharing with faith-based communities, focusing on the “If You See Something, Say Something” and Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting Initiatives.

Regarding the above, I hereby request the following under the Freedom of Information Act:
1) A list of all persons present or invited to attend.
2) A video recording of the conference and meeting. If a video recording was not made, an audio recording. Please include all sessions where video or audio is available.
3) All slides or other audio/visual materials used in making presenations at this conference and meeting.
4) All materials provided to participants such as handouts.
5) All notes, manuscripts or other aids used by any presenter to prepare or deliver any speech, remarks or other adress to the participants.

I am sending this request to DHS HQ. Please forward to all agencies which may have records including FEMA, CBP, The Homeland Security Advisory Committee, and any other part of DHS which would hold records on this event.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
