To Whom It May Concern:
This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
A list of cases for which exemption b(2) was invoked between January 20, 2009 and April 1, 2011, and the subject of those cases. If your agency does not maintain such a list and is unwilling to create one, I hereby request a copy of each letter made by your agency in response to a FOIA request in which exemption b(2) was invoked between January 20, 2009 and April 1, 2011.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Jason Smathers

ICE FOIA Office,
Can you please provide me with this data including the subject of the requests? This list form is preferred if you have it or are willing to create it.
In the alternative, I request according to the FOIA each initial request letter for all FOIA cases where exemption 2 was used from 1/20/2009 through the date this request is processed.
Thank you!
Regards,
Jason Smathers

Sir - respectfully, as our letter informed you, the "subject of the request" is available from our ICE FOIA Logs which are posted to the public in the FOIA electronic reading room. You will need to compare the list of cases we provided in response to your FOIA request with the information already publicly available in our FOIA logs.
Please see www.ice.gov/foia
For example, the ICE FOIA Office Log for July 2011 is here http://www.ice.gov/doclib/foia/icefoialogs/foia-log-07-2011.pdf
Sincerely,
Ryan
