- Any and all communications between Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage or his office and the National Security Agency (NSA) between January 1, 2005 and February 22, 2005
- Any and all communications between Deputy Secretary of State Robert Zoellick or his office and the National Security Agency (NSA) between February 22, 2005 and July 7, 2006
- Any and all communications between Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Marc Isaiah Grossman or his office and the National Security Agency (NSA) between January 1, 2005 and March 18, 2005
- Any and all communications between Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs R. Nicholas Burns or his office and the National Security Agency (NSA) between March 18, 2005 and October 30, 2006

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. I am a professional journalist whose work has appeared in the Boston Globe, Salon, Al Jazeera America, and other national and international publications. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
