This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
All guidelines, presentations, policy statements, legal opinions, memoranda, briefs, training manuals and emails related to the grsecurity (a.k.a. "grsec") and PaX security patches for the Linux kernel. Please include any processing notes made in completing this request.
According to their website, https://www.grsecurity.net/:
Grsecurity® is an extensive security enhancement to the Linux kernel that defends against a wide range of security threats through intelligent access control, memory corruption-based exploit prevention, and a host of other system hardening that generally require no configuration.
It has been actively developed and maintained for the past 16 years. Commercial support for grsecurity is available through Open Source Security, Inc.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
