According to a press release from Gov. Bill Lee's office, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is one of several agencies who will utilize the to-be-constructed facilities of the Multi-Agency Law Enforcement Training Academy: https://www.tn.gov/governor/news/2023/9/27/gov--lee-champions-multi-agency-law-enforcement-training-academy-.html
Pursuant to the Tennessee Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
Documents sufficient to show the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's planned use of the Multi-Agency Law Enforcement Training Academy (MALETA). Documents could include but are not limited to blueprints, design schemas, project plans, construction timeline, and agency budgets.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 7 business days, as the statute requires.

This email is in response to your public records request, received on October 13, 2023. Please be advised, the request for "documents sufficient to show the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's planned use of the Multi-Agency Law Enforcement Training Academy (MALETA)" does not identify the specific records being sought. Further, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation ("TBI") is not the appropriate custodian of records for documents such as blue prints, design schemes, etc., and we suggest contacting the Tennessee Department of General Services for these types of documents.
However, while the request is overly broad, based on the information provided, it is our understanding you may be seeking documents from the TBI Training Division wherein information has been requested and provided related to TBI's needs and use of the facility for its training purposes. If this is accurate, we estimate a cost of $20 and anticipate records will be available by November 10, 2023. Please confirm if you agree to this estimate and we will move forward with your request.
In the event we have misinterpreted your request, please provide additional information to assist in the identification of the requested records.
