Pursuant to RCW Ch. 42.56 (Public Records Act), I hereby request the following records:

All communications between Seattle Office of the Mayor staff and Seattle Police Department staff regarding the Nine and a Half Block Strategy (a.k.a., "9 1/2 Block Strategy," "9½ Block Initiative," etc.) and related metadata. This should include but not be limited to communications to and from SPD staff and Scott Lindsay, Seattle Mayor Ed Murray's special assistant on public safety, and Deputy Mayor Kate Joncas. Lindsay and Joncas have been widely reported as involved in this program.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.
