From: Lucas Smolcic Larson

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Rhode Island Access to Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

End-of-year reports, graduation/certification records, or other documents from the RIDOC Education Unit that show the number of inmates within the DOC that receive their High School Equivalency Diploma (GED) and Adult Basic Education Certificate (ABE) on a per-year basis between the year 2000 and the year 2018. This data can be presented in terms of yearly number of graduates or per-year graduation rates for both the GED and ABE programs. If these documents are separated by facility, I request that I be provided with documents from each facility with GED and/or ABE programming.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter.

I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Lucas Smolcic Larson
