1) The most recent of any regularly issued report created by or provided to your department documenting fees for community supervision collected by your staff or by any other entity tasked with performing collections for your agency
2) The most recent of any regularly issued report created by or provided to your department documenting unpaid fees for community supervision owed to your department.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

Hi Kathy,
I had hoped we could chat on the phone but if that's not possible I can explain my confusion.
I am seeking the most recent of any *regularly issued* reports. So essentially, if your office sends a report each year or each month to, say, the commissioner, or the treasurer, or the Governor, documenting probation, parole, home confinement etc type fees collected and owed, I would want a copy of that 1 most recent report. If your office receives such a report from, say, a private collections agency, I would also want the 1 most recent of those such reports.
I'm surprised by the estimate that locating and emailing such a document would take 9 hours.
Can you help me understand?

Dear Emily:
I am circling back to you on your APRA request originally sent to the Rhode Island Department of Corrections on June 15, 2021. As you know, on June 25, 2021 I sent a letter to you requesting $120.00 to process your request. This figure was based upon information I received from our IT department regarding the time it would take to create this report, as well as my estimate of the time it would take to review and redact certain personally identifying information. Pursuant to Rhode Island's public records law the statutory timeframe for responding to a request is tolled until payment is received; therefore, the DOC has awaited payment before processing your request. However, I recently received fiscal reports that may address your request. These are not the same reports that our IT department would have to create, but if they satisfy your request then there is no need to pay a fee for this information. Therefore, I am attaching the fiscal reports for your review. If after review you would still like to receive reports created by the IT department that will require payment of the previously indicated fee. However, if the attached information is satisfactory let me know and I will consider the department's response to your pubic record request complete.
In accordance with Rhode Island General Law ยง 13-8-8, if you are dissatisfied with this response you many wish to file a complaint with the RI Department of the Attorney General, 150 South Main Street, Providence, Rhode Island 02903 or the Rhode Island Superior Court of Providence County. Additional information may be found on the Attorney General's website at www.riag.ri.gov<http://www.riag.ri.gov>.
