Amazon HQ2 Bid

Paxtyn Merten filed this request with the The Office of the County Executive of Prince George's County, MD.

It is a clone of this request.

From: Paxtyn Merten

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Maryland Public Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

A copy of the bid submitted in response to Amazon's request for proposals for the site of its second headquarters, any contracts with third-party providers for services rendered regarding the Amazon HQ2 bid, and any marketing budgets regarding Amazon-related expenditures from September 1, 2017 to the date this request is received.

When you previously denied this request made by another member of our organization, the county attorney wrote “disclosure of any portion of the county’s submission to Amazon jeopardizes the County’s ability to effectively compete on the national level with other state, county, and municipal jurisdictions seeking to attract this multi-billion-dollar business opportunity, and would provide unfair insight into the county’s bidding strategy before the negotiation process has ended.” However, now that the HQ2 negotiation process has ended and Amazon has announced the locations of its second headquarters, this argument preventing disclosure no longer applies.

Please provide records on a rolling basis, and reach me at 617-299-1832 if you have any questions.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Paxtyn Merten
