Pursuant to the Rhode Island Access to Public Records Act ("APRA"), I hereby request the following records:

Written procedures for access to the agency’s public records, including any records request forms required or suggested by the agency

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

This office is in receipt of your Access to Public Records Act (“APRA”) request received by the City on April 2, 2014 requesting “written procedures for access to the agency’s public records, including any records request the forms required or suggested by the agency ”. In response to your request, this office has provided a PDF, which I have attached for your review.

As per R.I. Gen. Laws §38-2-8, if you believe that the City has not been responsive to your request, you may contact to or you may appeal to Mayor Donald R. You may also file a complaint with the Department of Attorney General, 150 South Main Street, Providence, RI 02903, or the Providence County Superior Court.
