In regards to the above request:

I am aware the district has an EDI task force which may have sub task forces.

A "task force" should be considered a type of committee by any reasonable definition.

The task force must have produced public records responsive to this request.

Please provide responsive public records or confirm that the task force created no responsive documents.

Thank you.

From: Oakwood City School District

This is to confirm that no public records have been created that are responsive to your request.

Thank you for your reply.

Given the unexpected result of no responsive records, it is likely that interim work product was created but not retained.

Notably, the request includes any media (written or otherwise) created during a task force meeting in addition to minutes.

Could you provide the records retention schedule that was applied to task force work product and any available records that document destruction of records according to the records retention schedule?

This information is needed to explain the absence of responsive records, and are public records in themselves.

Thank you.

From: Oakwood City School District

Your assumption that the District's EDI task force is a committee and therefore must have produced public records responsive to your request is erroneous. The EDI task force is an administrative committee, not a committee or subcommittee of the Oakwood Board of Education. As such, it is not a public body subject to Ohio's Open Meetings Act and Public Records Act. It has no obligation under Ohio law to create minutes, and it did not do so. Nor did it create any other public records responsive to your request, as I have previously informed you. No records were created, and no records were destroyed.

The District's Records Retention Schedule is a public record, and it is attached hereto in response to your request from yesterday.
