Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
I would like access to SHP Member Matt W. Pitman's dashcam pertaining to a shooting on U.S. Highway 158 on June 29, 2012.
Attached is a news article regarding the incident in question.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Your attached request was received by our office in today's mail. We do not have any responsive video as it is outside our retention schedule. If any video did exist, video recordings captured by the State Highway Patrol are considered law enforcement agency recordings, and their release is strictly governed by N.C. Gen. Stat. ยง132-1.4A. Accordingly, such recordings may only be released pursuant to an order issued by the Superior Court in the county where the recording was made.
