Pursuant to the Texas Public Information Act, I hereby request the following records related to the school district's use of GoGuardian technology:
1) A list of all website names, URLs and keywords that are blacklisted/blocked by the district's GoGuardian web-filtering software.
2) A list of all website names, URLs and keywords that the district has manually whitelisted/allowed access to upon request through the GoGuardian web-filtering software.
3) All alerts generated by GoGuardian software from January 1, 2020 through August 5, 2022. Please redact any identifying information.
4) All summaries or other statistical reports regarding attempted access to blacklisted/blocked websites or flagged search terms from January 1, 2020 through August 5, 2022.
5) All incident reports, after action reports, or police reports based on incidents that involved GoGuardian alerts from January 1, 2020 through August 5, 2022. Please redact any identifying information.
6) All complaints received about GoGuardian software from parents, students or staff.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

The request Request Number: 2022-71 has been completed.
We are writing regarding the information request received by Del Valle Independent School District on Tuesday, August 8, 2022. After reviewing your request, the District has determined that it needs clarification on the particular items or types of information that you are requesting. The District would also like to request your consideration in narrowing the scope in order to better process the request. Accordingly, the District is requesting clarification and/or narrowing from you regarding the specific types of information you are requesting, as authorized by Texas Government Code § 552.222.
A portion of your request seeks “all complaints received about GoGuardian software from parents, students, or staff.” Please clarify your request by identifying a date range in which you would like the District to search for responsive records. Please also consider narrowing your request by identifying more specific terms or phrases that can be searched. As is currently stated, your request for “all complaints” will require us to search all email communications sent through the District’s email system for the generic term “GoGuardian” and then individually review every email to see if it is in response to your request for a “complaint.” It is anticipated this will take a significant amount of time, resulting in a significant expense.
Providing clarification and narrowing of your request in these areas will ensure a more accurate estimate of processing costs and will help the District comply with your request promptly. Section 552.222 of the Texas Government Code also requires us to notify you that if the District does not receive a written response from you within 61 days of this correspondence, your request will be considered withdrawn with no further action pending.

Thank you for response. Regarding "complaints," is it correct that DVISD has a specific grievance form that parents are supposed to fill out? Would it be simple enough to narrow to those forms or other communications in possession of whoever maintains those grievance forms? We could you narrow the time period from January 1, 2020 through August 5, 2022.
