Mr. Chapman,

Your request produced over 4,500 emails. The estimated cost of your public records request is well over $1600 for the review and production costs. Please let me know how you want to proceed?

From: Matt Chapman

Thank you for the cost estimation -

Could you provide me with a quick breakdown of the review costs?

From: Office of the Governor of Mississippi

The estimate is for production and the cost of having an attorney review 4500 emails/estimated 9000 pages of documents. Do you want to narrow your search by terms?

From: Matt Chapman

Why are the emails themselves being reviewed? This request is not for the contents of emails - only each email's metadata, which can be thought of as separate documents/records within your email servers.

Please only review the metadata of each email to reduce the significant burden and costs.

From: Office of the Governor of Mississippi

We do not have the capability of getting the metadata together. We do not have an in-house IT person. We can hire someone to do this. The only way we can obtain the information you requested is by producing the actual emails themselves. They would then need to be reviewed.

From: Matt Chapman

I have over ten years of IT experience and would be more than happy to provide help in any way needed; would you like some assistance? I can provide documentation, writeups, or can speak over the phone. Let me know.

From: Office of the Governor of Mississippi

I am having trouble communicating with you via email. Please contact me directly from your personal email.
