Pursuant to the Washington Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
Staff roster including but not limited to first and last names, job titles, areas of assignment, and badge, serial, and other identifying numbers. In order of preference, I would prefer that this data be provided as: plain text with comma-separated-values (i.e., a "CSV" file), OpenDocument spreadsheet, Excel spreadsheet, or the native electronic format of the software from which this information is retrieved in fulfillment of my request. I specifically request that you not create a new record for me by rendering to PDF or by printing your electronic record then scanning it to make a series of images of the printed data.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

At this time, the City is requesting clarification for "Staff roster" as we have commissioned and non-commissioned Police Department employees. Do you only want commissioned officers, or Police Department administration staff as well in the roster? Please respond by Friday, April 21st to better conduct a more accurate records search for you.
We need additional time to respond to your request in order to locate and assemble the information requested, notify third parties affected by the request if necessary, or to determine whether any of the information contained in the requested records is exempt and whether a denial should be made as to part of the request per RCW 42.56.520. We plan to respond to your request on or before 5/16/2023 and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Do you only want commissioned officers, or Police Department administration staff as well in the roster? Please respond by Friday, April 21st to better conduct a more accurate records search for you After receiving no response to the City’s April 18 request for clarification to date, the City went ahead and processed its request consistent with the interpretation stated above. Specifically, the City is providing its Police Department and City-wide staff directories/rosters containing both commissioned and non-commissioned employees current as of today, May 16, 2023. The City is unable to identify records responsive to your request for “other identifying numbers” associated with staff rosters. If you would like to clarify that portion of your request, the City is glad to conduct a further search of other potentially responsive records. Under its current interpretation, r ecords pertaining to your request are available to view or download in Response Center Bates numbered CMC_8923_RTerse_000001-000003. We trust that this fully responds to your request, but please do not hesitate to let us know if any questions.
