Hello,

MuckRock has received your letter dated September 4, 2012 and accompanying responsive documents. Thank you for these. MuckRock has a couple of clarifications regarding this request and the documents which were sent:

In that letter, Assistant County Attorney Barnes indicated that the Sheriff's Department has no records responsive to the first paragraph in our request:

"any requests for proposals, proposals submitted by vendors, contracts, budgets or cost allocations for the purchase and/or use of aerial drones, UAs, UAVs, and UASs (hereinafter “drones”)."

This paragraph of our request ought to cover contracts for the drone purchased by the Sheriff's department. Please clarify whether any documents exist which are responsive to this paragraph, particularly contracts, sales quotes and cost approval documents for the purchase of the Sheriff's department's drone or impending drone purchases.

The letter also indicated that the department is in the process of drafting a written policy. I would like to request a copy of this policy as well if any progress has been made on its drafting.

Thank you for your help with this request.

Best,
Shawn Musgrave
