To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to Kentucky Open Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
Any and all written documents that include, but are not limited to, policies, procedures, training manuals, talking points and slideshows that include the topic of non-discrimination and anti-bullying policies regarding LGBT identified students. This includes, but is not limited to, policies on the use of restroom and locker room facilities. Please limit this request to documents that were generated over the past two years as well as documents, such as policies, that are in effect now.
Any and all records, reports or documents generated between the last two years that detail all voluntary agreements made between the school and The Office of Civil Rights following a discrimination complaint on the basis of sex.
Any and all records, reports or documents regarding Senate Bill 17, known as the "Charlie Brown Law" , that informs school policies regarding gender identity and expression. These reports should include, but are not limited to, student sexual health education.
Finally, I request any and all memos, letters, policies and guidelines sent to parents that outline policies regarding transgender students. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of restroom and locker room facilities.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.

It is my understanding that your request is limited to documents from the past 2 years (including anything generated over 2 years ago, but currently in effect). Based on the fact that you sent this request directly to Atherton High School, it is also my understanding that your request is limited to only records regarding Atherton High School. Please correct me if either of these statements is wrong.
These records are both in active use and storage in various offices around the District and kept in various formats. Because of this, it will take additional time for us to process them into a singular format in order to provide you with copies. These records will be available to you no later than April 14, 2017.

We are in receipt of your request for various records relating to non-discrimination policies at Atherton High School.
The responsive records are attached.
There are no records responsive to your request for voluntary agreements between Atherton High School and the Office of Civil Rights following a discrimination complaint on the basis of sex. There are also no records related to Senate Bill 17 at Atherton High School.
There are also no records responsive to your request for memos, letters, policies and guidelines sent to parents that outline policies regarding transgender students within the past 2 years.
This issue was originally discussed at Atherton in 2014, which falls outside the 2 year time limit in your request. Records related to that discussion and communications to and from parents at that time are available online at http://schools.jefferson.kyschools.us/high/atherton/SBDM.html
