To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Louisiana Public Records Law, I hereby request the following records:
I would like a copy of all complaints regarding utilities filed to the Louisiana Public Service Commission between January 1st, 2021 and December 31st, 2022.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Grey Moran

Grey,
The LPSC has received your public records request dated December 29, 2022 and the follow-up on January 4, 2023. Unfortunately, it appears our fax machine has been malfunctioning and just received the request today.
For the request, the records you are seeking are for all public utility complaints for the period of 2021 and 2022. The public utility complaints would include but not be limited to electric companies, water and wastewater companies, and telecommunications. This request will likely result in thousands of pages of records (at $0.25/page) leading to possibly well over a thousand dollars. Is there any way to narrow your serve to specific public utilities or narrowing to a smaller time period? Let me know how you want to proceed and again, our apologies for the delayed response. Thanks,
Colby Cook

Hi Colby,
Would you be able to limit this request to just water companies, between January 1st, 2021 and December 31st, 2022?
You noted the fee. I'm a journalist with Civil Eats requesting this for an article for the public benefit. I would like a fee waiver, if possible.
Best,
Grey
