RE: PUBLIC DISCLOSURE REQUEST L001990-100218; Installment #1:
Greetings:
The Kennewick Police Department has compiled 206 records/files with 1,271 pages to include 53 scanned documents responsive to your 10/2/2018 2:20:49 PM Public Disclosure Request seeking:
Washington State recently passed legislation approving an amended fee schedule that now incorporates charges for electronic records released under the Public Records Act. The City of Kennewick fee schedule is .5 cents/4 electronic files released. Therefore, with this request, your payment of $7.88 is required.

The Kennewick Police Department is located at 211 West Sixth Avenue, Kennewick, WA  99336 and our lobby is open Monday - Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Your payment may be made in person (cash, check, card) or by mail (check sent to my attention). The records, redaction log and receipt will be provided to you within three business days once payment has been received.
Your request will remain open pending payment through November 9, 2018. Without your payment by this date the request will be automatically closed as an abandoned request. We will begin work on the second installment only after this first installment is fully conveyed . Due to the volume of anticipated records and the amount of staffing resources to adequately research the remainder of your request which consist of 971 case report files (without attachments and the remaining 487 emails), we are requiring a deposit of $1.83 before we begin work on this second installment. This is 10% of our anticipated copy charge and is permitted under WAC 44-14-07006, RCW 42.56.120(4) and KMC 1.40.090(5). We anticipate a 30 day response time for installment #2. Based on our staffing resourses and other core work needing to be accomplished, we believe there to be 10 installments remaining.
Please keep in mind records are maintained in accordance with the state retention scheduled and may not be available for a future submission should you abandon this request. Also, requestors who fail to pay for their requests are required to pay deposits for all future requests in accordance with RCW 42.56.120.
If you have any questions or need further assistance with this request, please contact kpdinfo@ci.kennewick.wa.us or (509) 585-4208. (mailto:kpdinfo@ci.kennewick.wa.us)
