Mr. Thomas,

Can you tell me if both requests are related to the Dakota Access Pipeline?

From: Christopher Thomas

Yes, they are directly related.

From: Scaletta, Fred [DOC]

There are over 2,000 emails within the Iowa DOC email system that reference, protest, protests, protestor or protestors within the time period requested. A review to determine the emails that are related to the Dakota Access Pipeline, plus any required redaction will take a considerable amount of staff time. The Iowa Department of Corrections costs, including, review, redacting and copy time is $15.00 per hour plus copy cost at .15 per page.

The other request containing hashtag and/or "#NoDAPL" has been completed and there are 28 emails that need to be reviewed.

Please advise if your agency is willing to pay the costs. If so, a cost amount will be provided. Once the payment is received, the Iowa DOC will proceed with processing your request.
