To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the The Kansas Open Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
1. Any records* of communications between Superintendent Ron Wilson and any administrator or staff member concerning the dress code.
2. Any records of communications between Superintendent Ron Wilson and any member of the Board of Education concerning the dress code.
3. Any records of communications to, from, or between any member of the Board of Education concerning the dress code.
4. Any record, generated within the last five years, of any disruption caused at any institution within Hays USD 489 as a result of any Satanic apparel or expression.
5. Any record, generated within the last five years, of any disruption caused at any institution within Hays USD 489 as a result of any religious apparel or expression.
These requests (with the exception of Request Nos. 4 and 5) are limited to records generated on or after May 1, 2022.
For these requests, "records" expressly includes, but is not limited to, emails, text messages, social media messages, calendar invites, calendar entries, minutes, memoranda, audio recordings, video recordings, or Zoom recordings.
Please note that this request seeks records in the possession, custody, or control of any employee or agent of Hays USD 489 or any member of the Board of Education. This includes any public records stored on private email, cellular, or other messaging services.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.

This landed in my spam folder, my apologies for the delay in responding.
The request response as follows:
1. None
2. You can watch the BOE meeting that the communication occurred here:
The minutes from that meeting have not been approved by the BOE yet.
The remainder of the discussion occurred at our BOE Retreat, on August 5th. This meeting was not broadcast, and the minutes also have not been approved by the BOE at this date.
