Pursuant to the Ohio Open Records Law, I hereby request the following records:
All documents containing policies and procedures that establish the authority/powers of the civilian review board, office of civilian complaints, civilian police commission, civilian inspector general, or other civilian oversight structure of the police department.
If no civilian oversight board exists, copy of any policies or procedures for handling civilian complaints.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I would request your response within ten (10) business days.

The Columbus Police Department does not have a civilian oversight committee, but rather an Internal Affairs Bureau, which investigates complaints against all Columbus Police Officers. Attached is the Bureau's Standard Operating Procedure.

This request has been answered and filled. Reading in the below e-mail chain, I answered that the Columbus Police Department does not have a civilian oversight committee, but that all complaints are handled by the Internal Affairs Bureau. I also included their Standard Operating Procedure Manual. Is there something else you want added to this request?
