From: Nik Hatziefstathiou

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Colorado Public Records Law, I hereby request the following records:

(1) Any email sent or received by any employee of your agency between Jan. 1, 2018 to Present Day which includes the keywords "Sol Pais", "Sol", "dissolvedgirl", and "Columbine High School".
(2) Any memos or documents responsive to "Sol Pais", a Florida-native who was found dead on Apr. 17, 2019 near the Echo Lake Lodge at the base of Mount Evans in Clear Creek County, Colorado. (For verification of death, please see this statement issued via Twitter by the FBI: https://twitter.com/FBIDenver/status/1118567349567795206?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1118567349567795206&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.nytimes.com%2F2019%2F04%2F17%2Fus%2Fcolumbine-shooting-sol-pais.html)

If previously released records are available, then we request a rolling release consisting of those records while additional records are located and processed for release.

American Media is a representative of the news media and is primarily engaged in the dissemination of information to the public.

Should the Agency decide that a fee waiver does not apply, American Media agrees to pay up to $250.00 for the processing of this request. Kindly inform me if the estimated fees will exceed this limit before processing American Media’s request.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Nik Hatziefstathiou

Good morning,

I received your CORA/CJRA request yesterday morning, but due to the amount
of information and individuals involved, CBI will be requiring an extension
for this request to compile what we have. Once I have this information, I
will be able to calculate the amount of time I anticipate it will take to
complete your request and send you a payment agreement form.

Thank you for your patience, and I will contact you again soon with the
agreement form and additional details.
