To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Colorado Criminal Justice Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
All Reports, Police Reports, Incident Reports, Records, Communications, Memorandums, Lists, Intelligence Reports, Audio Files, Video Files, Digital Files or any other documents including or referencing Black Lives Matter.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
I am a member of the News Media and request News Media Fee Status. In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request be filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter.
I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.
To Whom It May Concern:
I wanted to follow up on the following Colorado Public Records Law request, copied below, and originally submitted on Aug. 3, 2019. Please let me know when I can expect to receive a response.
Thanks for your help, and let me know if further clarification is needed.
Our agency received your faxed request (copy attached) for records "including or referencing Black Lives Matter" on 08/04/2019, and your additional fax on 08/07/2019. We are unable to provide any reports due to the broad scope of your request. Our reports are indexed by dates, names, or incident types. We are unable to perform a search for phrases as provided in your request. If you are seeking reports regarding a specific incident, please submit an official request through our website at https://www.colorado.edu/police/content/records-release-request. Additionally the State of Colorado requires acknowledgement of a specific statement under Colorado Revised Statute 24-72-305.5. Requesting information through our website will meet this requirement.
Please be aware the University of Colorado Police Department's records are maintained separately from any records or reports held by the University of Colorado. If you wish to make a request of University records, I encourage to seek additional information for that process at https://www.cu.edu/ope/aps/2022.
If you have additional questions regarding the Police Department's process, my contact information is listed below.
