Pursuant to the Wisconsin Open Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

This is a request for information. Original Media Group Corporation (the "News Agency") is a representative of the news media and is primarily engaged in the dissemination of information to the general public. The News Agency hereby requests the opportunity to inspect or obtain copies of public records pertaining to Jake Patterson (hereinafter referred to as "inmate Patterson"). The subject matter of the New Agency's request relates to the public's need to understand and assess for itself the records.

Inmate Patterson is serving a life sentence after pleading guilty to killing Jayme Closs' parents and kidnapping the 13-year-old girl in October 2018. He held her captive for over 90 days before she escaped.

(i)(c) REQUEST TIMEFRAME: Date of Commitment to the Facility to Present Day
1) Audio and/or video of prison visitations with inmate Patterson within the above-mentioned Timeframe;
2) Audio of phone calls placed by inmate Patterson within the above-mentioned Timeframe;
3) Commissary orders placed by inmate Patterson within the above-mentioned Timeframe;
4) Grievances filed by inmate Patterson within the above-mentioned Timeframe;
5) 'Write-ups' or disciplinary action reports against inmate Patterson within the above-mentioned Timeframe;
6) Photocopies of any letters sent or received by inmate Patterson;
6) If more audio than what was initially released exists, we kindly ask for those to be included.

Exclusions.

i) Any sensitive, personal, confidential or privileged material may be redacted accordingly pursuant to local law.

If this request is unclear, we ask that you contact us for clarification rather than denying our request outright. We further ask that if certain information cannot be shared that you fulfill our request in part rather than denying it in full, and explain the reason including the legal basis for withholding any information.

Dear Requester:

Barron County does not maintain any records for the Poweshiek County Jail
and therefore do not have any records matching your request. Once Jake
Patterson was sentenced he was remanded into the custody of the Department
of Corrections and Barron County maintains no records of his ongoing
placements or interactions.

Barron County has previously responded to numerous records request
involving the Sheriff Department's investigative file and has placed all
such records on a website hosted by the Wisconsin Department of Justice.
Links to those records can be found in the attached news release.
