Pursuant to the Maryland Public Information Act, I hereby request clarification about the responsive document from a previous MPIA request, submitted on April 16, 2018. The tracking number for the request in question is # MPIA 18-0417, and the responsive document can be found at this link: https://cdn.muckrock.com/foia_files/2018/05/11/Active_employees_as_of_May_3_2018.xlsx.
I would like to ask for the meanings of the following fields in the spreadsheet:
- Location
- EMPLID
- Ethnic Group
- Job Code
- In Lieu
- Position Number
- Grade
- GL Pay Type
- Locality
If there is a legend or document describing the fields and/or listing the possible values of those fields (e.g. a list of all Job Codes and Job Titles for BPD), I would like to request those documents. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your help. The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires, as the statute requires. If access to the records I am requesting will take longer than this amount of time, please contact me with information about when I might expect copies or the ability to inspect the requested records.

Good Morning:
In reference to the clarification of codes:
Location- the location of their assignment such as district or specialized units.
Emplid- this is the number that is assigned each employee when they are hired.
Ethnic Group- The code that is used by the Department 1 is African-American, 2 is Caucasian, 3 is Asian and 4 is Other.
Position Number- The number that is assigned for the Department in which that Officer is filling.
Grade- The number that coordinates with their rank and pay.
Locality- In each district and specialized unit there are shifts, this number coordinates with what shift each member is assigned to.
