"Awaiting Response"

Hi,

So I submitted a FOIA request to the incorrect agency, the DHS. They referred me to the DoS. Then I saw a message from MuckRock saying:

“The attached FOIA request is being forwarded to your office for processing. Confirmation of receipt and an estimated date of completion would be appreciated.”

I can’t tell if that’s “forwarded” to the office of the DoS or whether that’s directed to the DHS. The current message says “Awaiting Response.”

Does this mean it’s awaiting response from the DHS or the DoS?

Just wondering if I should re-submit a request to DoS and cancel the current one. Or if this means I’m awaiting a response from the DoS.
