Fund for Investigative Journalism funds original MuckRock reporting

Grant to be used to analyze emerging techno-surveillance techniques

Written by

We’re grateful and humbled to share that the Fund for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) has announced a grant to MuckRock for reporting on emerging techno-surveillance techniques in use by local and state law enforcement agencies.

The majority of the $4,000 grant will go directly to helping fund public records requests to release more information to the public about a generally opaque field. MuckRock’s accomplished editorial team will provide additional reporting and analysis, resulting in the planned publication of an in-depth feature on this subject.

Our sincere appreciation goes out to FIJ, and we look forward to sharing more as our reporting continues.
