There are over 21,000 employees at the University of Wisconsin Madison and on any given day many may email a business for a variety of reasons. The Wisconsin public records law does not allow an authority to let requests languish with no action, therefore we have to set deadlines for action on requests where there is not sufficient information to move ahead with records location.
