Pursuant to the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
Mich. Comp. Laws Ann. ยง 780.993 requires that within 180 days of promulgation of a standard by the Michigan Indigent Defense Commission that the "No later than 180 days after a standard is approved by the department, each indigent criminal defense system shall submit a plan to the MIDC for the provision of indigent criminal defense services in a manner as determined by the MIDC and shall submit an annual plan for the following state fiscal year on or before October 1 of each year. A plan submitted under this subsection must specifically address how the minimum standards established by the MIDC under this act will be met and must include a cost analysis for meeting those minimum standards. The standards to be addressed in the annual plan are those approved not less than 180 days before the annual plan submission date. The cost analysis must include a statement of the funds in excess of the local share, if any, necessary to allow its system to comply with the MIDC's minimum standards." MCL 780.993
The MIDC has promulgated Standard 5 in October of 2020. Please provide all plan documentation provided to the MIDC for the all standards in effect for standards for both initial plans and annual plans for the fiscal year of 2020-2021, and the draft proposal submitted to the MIDC for the fiscal year 2021-2022, including any attachments.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
