To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act., I hereby request the following records:
The roster of all current Waukegan Police Department officers. For each officer, please be sure to include at least the following fields:
- Badge number
- Headshot (roster photo)
- Date of hire
- Date or year of birth
- Primary unit assignment or job title (such as "patrol," "motorcycle," "street crimes," etc.)
If applicable, please also include a history of badge numbers (for example if badge numbers change upon promotion).
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

We are required to answer your request within a number of working days after receipt of the request. The length of time for the reply is dependent upon the type of information requested and the purposes for such information. To the extent possible, the majority of responses will be sent via email. Be aware that a charge of $.15/page applies after the first 50 pages

This firm represents the City of Waukegan as Corporation Counsel. Accordingly, we are responding to you on their behalf. Thank you for writing to the City of Waukegan with your request for information pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140/1 et seq.
On October 22, 2020 you filed a FOIA request for certain information related to Police Department Employees. Your request is granted. We have enclosed a copy of Report we were able to generate with the information that you requested. Racial information has been redacted pursuant to Sections 7(1) (b) & (c) of the Freedom of Information Act, and photos of all personnel are withheld pursuant to 5 ILCS 140/2.15(c)(ii).
You have a right to have the denial of your request reviewed by the Public Access Counselor (PAC) at the Office of the Illinois Attorney General. 5 ILCS 140/9.5(a). You can file your Request for Review with the PAC by writing to: Public Access Counselor, Office of the Attorney General, 500 South 2nd Street, Springfield, Illinois 62706, Fax: 217-782-1396, E-mail: email@example.com<mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org>. You also have the right to seek judicial review of your denial by filing a lawsuit in the State circuit court, pursuant to 5 ILCS 140/11. If you choose to file a Request for Review with the PAC, you must do so within 60 calendar days of the date of this denial, pursuant to 5 ILCS 140/9.5(a). Please note that you must include a copy of your original FOIA request and this denial letter when filing a Request for Review with the PAC.
