--- Please respond above this line ---

Good morning: Regarding your request for UAS records, please see below. ACQUISITION AND PROCUREMENT
i) requests for proposals (RFPs), proposals/quotes submitted by vendors, contracts, leases, budget requests, project/equipment budgets, cost allocations or reimbursements for the purchase of drone equipment; There were no records located that are responsive to this request.
ii) Grant applications and award letters for drone equipment purchases; There were no records located that are responsive to this request.
iii) Insurance contracts for all drone equipment; There were no records located that are responsive to this request.
iv) Communications (including electronic communications) between the agency head or agency quartermaster (or individual responsible for equipment purchases and maintenance) and drone vendors, manufacturers or retailers; A keyword search resulted in at least 602 results for drone-related emails sent to or received by the sheriff. A cursory review of the results indicates many of these emails are news items, newsletters, journal articles and similar items; and in many cases there are duplicate messages. However, there also appear to be a small number of intelligence briefings, Homeland Security communications and other messages that may contain information that is confidential or exempt from disclosure according to Florida's public records law. Fulfillment of this request will require staff to review these records and determine whether any information requires redaction. For the purposes of a cost estimate, if we assume an average of 15 seconds of review time per email, the initial labor cost estimate for this portion of the request would be approximately $50 (2.5 hours at a rate of $20 per hour). If you wish to proceed with this request, a deposit of $50 will be required. If the true labor cost turns out to be less than the estimate, you will be entitled to a partial refund. If the labor cost turns out to be greater than the estimate, you will owe additional payment. Additional research will be required to determine to what extent other personnel have sent or received emails that may be responsive to the request.
v) Communications (including electronic communications) between the agency head and agency quartermaster (or individual responsible for equipment purchases and maintenance) regarding acquisition, lease or use of drone equipment; Please see previous response to item iv.
vi) Communications (including electronic communications) between the agency head and the governor, mayor and city/town manager regarding the acquisition of drones; Please see previous response to item iv.
AUTHORIZATION
vii) Applications (including all components and support documentation) for Certificates of Waiver/Authorization (COA) from the Federal Aviation Administration, as well as COA grant notifications and final agreement; See attached (VSO_Night_Waiver_Full_Redacted.pdf)
