To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

On April 26, 2019, it was reported that a parent obtained access to information about Arlington Public Schools students through the Naviance college prep system: https://www.arlnow.com/2019/04/26/just-in-aps-informs-parents-of-limited-data-breach/

I'm seeking a copy of the district's full contract with Naviance, the vendor associated with the information that was breached.

I am a member of the news media making this request in the interest of newsgathering for the podcast Underunderstood. I'm willing to pay up to $100 in fees.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Adrianne Jeffries
