"Good afternoon,

The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has received your FOIA request on February 2, 2023. You will receive a response on or before February 9, 2023. Pursuant to Virginia Code § 2.2-3704, DMV must notify all requestors that a “public body may make reasonable charges not to exceed its actual cost incurred in accessing, duplicating, supplying, or searching for requested records”. In your correspondence you requested a cost estimate. To accurately quote you an estimate, DMV needs to discuss your request with you. It is not clear if you are requesting a list or actual documents. Please provide a phone number that you may be reached at or contact us directly at 804-497-7178.

Respectfully,

Tom Nash,

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) received your follow up request for information on February 2, 2023, pursuant to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). Specifically, you seek:

1. A list of all active Commercial Use Agreements (US-532A or US532E) between the Virginia DMV and third parties as of 2/2/2023

In response to your requests, after a review of DMV's records attached you will find the list of all non-government businesses that have current Use Agreements with DMV.

Additionally, during our phone conversation you expressed some interest in possibly requesting information that may require an ad hoc. DMV is able to compile data and run reports to create a record providing information that is not readily available. To do so would require the expenditure of resources, for which DMV can charge a fee to recover its actual costs based on an hourly rate for the responding employee's time plus any programming, data and duplication costs. In order to receive an actual estimate for that information, you will need to proceed with an ad hoc request. To do so, please complete the attached form and return it to Tara Pyatt, Use Agreement Services Program and Compliance Manager, via email at tara.pyatt@dmv.virginia.gov. She will be able to assist you with that process.

There is no fee for this information.

Respectfully,
