Pursuant to Utah’s Government Records Access and Management Act (“GRAMA”), I hereby request the following records:

-All department policies for state police officers responding to incidents of domestic violence

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Caitlin Russell

From: Jacob Cox

Pursuant to your GRAMA request, I have attached the DPS policy regarding
incidents of domestic violence.

However, regarding the second request for officer response to protests, DPS
does not have a current policy regarding this type of incident, so no
policy can be provide.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.

Thank you for your help! Does the department have any policies regarding crowd control or special events?

From: Jacob Cox

I searched for all these types of policies, as they would be closely
related to protests, but they have not been created.
