To Whom It May Concern:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

All documents and communications related to Secretary of Interior Ryan Zinke's travel expenses — including air and vehicle travel, security expenses, food expenditures and hotel accommodations — during his December 4, 2017 trip to Utah to announce the resizing of the Bears Ears National Monument and the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.

I am a reporter for Pacific Standard magazine, and the requested documents will be made available to the general public. This request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

records in the OS FOIA office. Once we have those records, we can begin
processing them. While we cannot provide you a timeline at this point,
please be assured we are working to complete your requests as promptly as

Dear Mr. Tobias,

We ran a search using the keywords you provided, as Ms. Magallanes has been
gone from the department for a good while now. It resulted in 5407
results, which means easily over 10k pages, likely quite a bit more. Would
you be interested in narrowing this at all? Some ideas I had were
narrowing the date range, removing certain words, or doing some word
combinations?

Let us know how you would like to proceed. Appreciate the help and
patience.

V/r,
Leah

Hi Leah,

Could we cut out all news clippings and boiler plate daily updates and the like. Would that help at all?

Thanks for reaching out!
