Dear Mr. Meadors:

Thank you for submitting your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to
the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) via the *FOIAonline*
website. We received your request on November 15, 2021. It concerns Navy
Medal of Honor records for LCDR William Loren McGonagle. The FOIAonline
system assigned your request tracking number NARA-NGC-2022-000253.

Unfortunately, NARA does not hold this type of record. They remain in the
custody of the Navy. Therefore, we have transferred your request via
*FOIAonline* to the main NAVY FOIA Office. This transfer generated a new
tracking number in the *FOIAonline* system which is now
*DON-NAVY-2022-001724*. Please cite this number in all future
correspondence with the Navy about your request. If you need to contact
NAVY FOIA in the future about your request, you may reach them via email to
DONFOIA-PA@navy.mil <DONFOIA-PA@navy.mil>.

Below for your reference is a copy of your request as we received it in
*FOIAonline*.

Thank you for contacting the National Archives and Records Administration.

Sincerely,
