From: Russel Neiss

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

1. The after action report, the plan of the day, and the trip itinerary for the US Marine Band’s October 10, 2020 White House performance.

2. Correspondence between any employee, official, or officer of the US Marine Band and the White House  concerning the band’s October 10, 2020 performance.

Please limit your search to the period between October 5, 2020 - October 12, 2020.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes. I believe that I should be categorized as an “Other Requester,” requiring me to pay for the Search and Duplication, excluding the cost of the first 2 hours of search and 100 pages. I expect that this request will be within that range.

In the unlikely event that the request exceeds that limit, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter.

I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Russel Neiss

Dear Ms. James,

I wanted to follow up on the following Freedom of Information Act request, copied below, and originally submitted on Oct. 11, 2020.

You had previously stated that it would be ready by November 5, 2021.

Please let me know when I can expect to receive a response. You had assigned it reference number #DON-USMC-2021-000273.

Thanks for your help, and let me know if further clarification is needed.

From: United States Marine Corps

Mr. Neiss - My apologies for the severe delays. Because the information has White House equities the files have to be reviewed by our significant FOIA unit. We were hoping that they would have this back to us sooner than later but, unfortunately, as of this morning it is still in "processing". I have sent an email to them this morning for an update. Thank you for your patience as we continue to process your request.

Sincerely,
