This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
Any and all available documents or correspondence related the June 29, 2017 letter sent to Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin by Representative Lamar Smith of Texas requesting an investigation into alleged ties between U.S. environmentalist organizations and the Russian government. This Freedom of Information Act request specifically seeks any documents or correspondence related to any Department of Treasury investigation prompted by Representative Smith's letter. I am a reporter with The Nation magazine, and the requested documents will be made available to the general public. This request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
