To Whom It May Concern:
This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
All available gis data associated with national tract codes and their boundaries as used in relation to American Community Survey datasets provided to the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council.
"During its 2011 and 2012 annual release of the ACS datasets, the U.S. Census Bureau made changes to certain tract codes and tract boundary definitions. The U.S. Census Bureau did not retroactively apply the tract changes to 2010 datasets, but instead the changes were applied for 2011 and 2012 ACS datasets and forward. In accordance with FFIEC policy, these changes will be adopted starting with the 2017 FFIEC Census File. The 2017 FFIEC Census file will include a complete baseline refresh of all of the ACS demographic fields using the latest tract code and boundaries available in the 2015 ACS dataset. The U.S. Census Bureau is expected to release the 2015 ACS 5 year estimates in December 2016. The FFIEC will provide a list of the 2017 Metropolitan Statistical Area/Metropolitan Division (MSA/MD), state, county, and tract combinations with income level indicators as soon as possible after the December 2016 release." The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Beryl C.D. Lipton
