I am a journalist under Sec 3 of OPEN Government Act of 2007. As such I request the fees be waived. There is an urgency to inform the public on a matter of widespread & exceptional media interest in which there exist questions about the Government’s integrity, affecting public confidence. The disclosure of the requested information is in the public interest because it is likely to contribute significantly to public understanding of the operations and activities of the government. This request is not primarily commercial in nature.
This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
I would like the Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) to provide me with all official calendar entries of former FHA Commissioner David H. Stevens from the beginning of his employment until March 31, 2011.
I would also like to receive all HUD documents (email, letters, phone logs) between David H. Stevens and any officers or staff of HUD, FHFA, the White House or the Mortgage Bankers Association that contain the words "GSEs", "Fannie Mae", "Freddie Mac" or "Risk Sharing" from the beginning of his employment and March 31, 2011.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Your request for "all the Housing and Urban Development emails that mention Ben Carson from January 2015 to the present" may need modifying. Every e-flyer publicizing an event at HUD has Ben Carson mentioned.
I have attached HUD News Briefing newsletters and Daily Clips that mention Ben Carson and represent 95% of the emails based on your current request. Those are just miscellaneous, general newsletters and clips that wouldn't be of any consequence to what you would like to acquire.
Would you like to modify your request to a specific topic matter? Or, emails to/from agency officials that mention Ben Carson aside from HUD Happenings newsletters and Daily Clips?
