To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

The records that reflect each of the BIA's decisions (by adjudication code) for the years 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.

The BIA uses certain "decision codes" to log what type of decision was made in an appeal. For example, "SUS" means the appeal was sustained. "WDL" means the appeal was withdrawn. It is our understanding the BIA tracks these decisions in a database by adjudication code. We are requesting the records that reflect the decision entered in each appeal for the above list of years. It is not necessary to produce immigrants' names or alien numbers, as it is understood that information would be exempt.

If possible, it would be preferable if the agency would produce these records as a spreadsheet in .csv or Excel format. If you have any questions about production or the scope of this request, please let us know.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Matthew Hoppock
