This is a request for an expedited review of records under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following:
Records concerning/pertaining to the "Standing Rock Sioux Tribe," the proposed "Dakota Access" pipeline, and "Energy Transfer Partners" created, sent or received by the Environmental Protection Agency between Aug. 1, 2016 and Sept. 6, 2016.
Please include any correspondence, electronic or otherwise, sent or received, between EPA and authorities of the following states: North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Illinois; Include, but do not limit your search to correspondence between EPA and Offices of the Governor, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the North Dakota Department of Health, and the South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources; Additionally, include correspondence between EPA and any local or state law enforcement agencies in the aforementioned states regarding the "Standing Rock Sioux Tribe," the proposed "Dakota Access" pipeline, and "Energy Transfer Partners."
We seek expedited review of this FOIA request pursuant to 5 U.S.C. § 552(a)(6)(E)(v)(II) because this information relates to impending legal proceedings to which informed members of the public might contribute. Timely public access to these materials is necessary to fully inform the public about the issues surrounding the Dakota Access pipeline and related developments.
As I am submitting this request in my capacity as a professional investigative reporter, I ask that you waive all applicable fees associated with the search, review and duplication of any responsive records. You may find a catalogue of my work here:http://www.dailydot.com/authors/dell-cameron/ (A letter from my editor at our New York office will be made available upon request.) The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
