Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
Any and all written or electronic communication, including emails and texts, sent or received by Independence Park Superintendent Steven Sims that refer to NPS's proposed rehabilitation of Welcome park in Philadelphia, including but not limited to NPS's proposal to remove the William Penn statue currently located at Welcome Park. You can read more about the "rehabilitation" here: https://www.nps.gov/inde/learn/news/park-seeks-input-on-the-rehabilitation-of-welcome-park.htm This request also seeks all communication between Sims, or his deputies, and any representatives of the indigenous nations of the Haudenosaunee, the Delaware Nation, Delaware Tribe of Indians, the Shawnee Tribe, and the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma.
This request seeks records produced since October 1, 2023.
I am a reporter for The Guardian, The Nation and other outlets.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
