To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
Information and materials related to the use of the SEL (systems engineering laboratories) 810A or 810B computers, commonly referred to as the SEL 810A and SEL 810B. The materials would have been mostly from 1967 to 1975 but the systems may have been used for a longer period.
Source code or compiled software along with the documentation is especially sought after for historical interest. Source code or code listings would likely be in the form of a printed listing of numeric values in columns along with columns of text technically describing the code. Compiled code would be in the form of rolls of paper tape in small cardboard boxes. It may also be on magnetic reel to reel tapes or some form of very large disk drive.
If software is found in an antiquated format, the computer history museum in California is available to assist in digitizing the software for posterity.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
