To Whom It May Concern:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

A copy of all responses sent to Congressional committees between Jan.1, 2008 and the date that this request is processed. These communications are stored together and should be easily accessible.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Michael Morisy

From: Michael Morisy

Hi,

I am a media requester, not a commercial requester. I am primarily employed in the dissemination of news through a variety of national news outlets. Please properly classify me as a media requester for the purpose of fees.

Also, please provide a fee estimate and timetable. Without these, it's impossible for me to agree to pay related fees.

Thanks,

Michael

From: Mabry, Gretchen, CTR, OASD(HA)/TMA

Mr. Morisy,

You are correct; we mistakenly had you listed as a commercial requester but you are indeed a media requester. I do apologize for the confusion.

In searching for the records we discovered that TMA regularly responds to all requests from congressional committees by responding to each individual member of the committee with a separate letter. This is going to result in several duplicate letters with the only difference being the name of the member of the committee. Because this will result in a large volume of records I have been asked by our searching office to ask you whether you would like responses on a particular topic and if not, whether you would like copies of all the letters or a sample from each group of responses.

Please let me know if you have questions. I can be reached by email or by phone at (703) 921-1639.
